WICKED
Audiences are cheering for this
musical hit inspired by the beloved story of The Wizard of Oz!
Long before Dorothy drops in, two girls meet in the land of Oz.
One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and
misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very
popular. Wicked tells the story of how these two unlikely
friends grew to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda
the Good Witch.
This fantasy-filled musical was the winner of three 2004 Tony
Awards including prizes for Best Costume Design and Best Scenic
Design. From real flying monkeys to a trip to the Emerald City
and a soaring, modern score by Stephen Schwartz, Wicked is a
true spectacle for the eyes and ears.
The twists and turns in Gregory Maguire's incredibly imaginative
back-story to The Wizard of Oz makes audiences literally gasp
with delight. But not only that, Wicked is a truly heartfelt
story of friendship and love. As Richard Zoglin of Time Magazine
put it, "If every musical had a brain, a heart and the courage
of Wicked, Broadway really would be a magical place!".

THE
LION KING
Disney's beloved movie comes to brilliant life
through the magic of Julie Taymor.
Giraffes strut, birds swoop, gazelles leap! The
entire savanna comes to life and, as the music
soars, Pride Rock slowly rises out of the stage.
This is The Lion King.
The winner of six 1998 Tony Awards, including Best
New Musical, it is the story of a young lion cub
named Simba who struggles to accept the
responsibilities of adulthood and his destined role
as king. To bring the classic 1994 film to life,
Disney turned to the story's roots, its rich
mythology, powerful human drama and primal African
rhythms to create a fantastic new musical unlike
anything Broadway has ever seen.
Marvel at the breathtaking spectacle of animals
miraculously brought to life by a cast of over 40
actors in what The London Daily Telegraph calls "a
blaze of fabulous imagination." Wonder at the
inspiration of award-winning director/designer Julie
Taymor, as one of the most successful films in
history is stunningly recreated live on stage.
Thrill to the pulsating rhythms of the African Pride
Lands and an unforgettable score including Elton
John and Tim Rice's Oscar-winning "Can You Feel The
Love Tonight" and songs by South African composer
Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, Julie Taymor, and
Hans Zimmer. Treat yourself and your friends and
family to a memory that will last a lifetime at the
musical Time Magazine calls "awe-inspiring" and "a
gorgeous, gasp-inducing spectacle!" The Lion King is
an adventure into another world.

THE
COLOR PURPLE
Presented by Oprah Winfrey, this emotional and
beloved novel comes to life on stage at the Broadway
Theatre.
From Alice Walker's classic Pulitzer Prize-winning
novel and the landmark film by Steven Spielberg
comes a soul-stirring new musical. The Color Purple
is an inspiring and unforgettable story of a woman,
who, through love, finds the strength to triumph
over adversity and discover her unique voice in the
world. The New York Times calls it “A bright odyssey
of survival and triumph. Purple strikes
sparks,” and USA Today raved, “The Color Purple
celebrates the inspiring relationships of faith and
love. A Broadway hit!”
With a moving book and a score featuring gospel,
jazz, ragtime and the blues, The Color Purple is
ultimately a story of hope, a testament to the
healing power of love and a celebration of life.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE
Life's about taking chances. On love... and
certainly on Broadway.
Fresh
from its triumphant run in L.A. (where it won five
Drama Critics' Circle Awards), The Drowsy Chaperone
swoops onto Broadway full of life, energy, laughter,
singing, dancing, champagne, monkeys and Tony winner
Sutton Foster, not necessarily in that order.
A rare combination of unprecedented originality and
blinding talent, The Drowsy Chaperone is a new
Broadway musical that boldly addresses a great
unspoken desire in all of our hearts: to be
entertained. If you've ever sat in a darkened
theatre and thought, "Dear Lord in heaven, please
let it be good," this is the show for you.
It all begins when a die-hard musical-theater fan
plays his favorite cast album on his turntable, and
the musical literally bursts to life in his living
room, telling the rambunctious tale of a brazen
Broadway starlet trying to find, and keep, her true
love.The

Legally
Blonde
Watch out, world—Elle Woods is coming to Broadway!
Legally Blonde promises to be one of the
season's hottest new musical comedies.
After a pair of hit
movies, beloved blonde Elle Woods is getting
ready to step into the spotlight at Broadway's
Palace Theatre. A new musical version of
Legally Blonde begins performances in April
2007, and everyone's talking about how this
overachieving fashionista will work her magic on
the stage. After all, when you've been president
of Delta Nu sorority and a Hawaiian Tropic girl,
conquering Harvard Law—and the Great White
Way—should be a cinch.
Legally Blonde will mark the Broadway
directorial debut of Tony Award-winning
choreographer Jerry Mitchell, whose credits
include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,
Hairspray, La Cage aux Folles and
The Full Monty. Music and lyrics are by Nell
Benjamin and Laurence O'Keefe (collaborators on
several Theatreworks USA musicals), and the book
is by Heather Hach (co-writer of the hit film
Freaky Friday). Plan now to catch Ms. Woods
and the rest of the film's characters onstage in
a big new Broadway musical.

Curtains,
a new, original, musical comedy
adds a nice dose of traditional musical comedy:
tunes, laughs, send 'em out humming,
featuring one of
the last scores by the legendary songwriting
team of Kander and Ebb, unfolds backstage at
Boston’s Colonial Theatre in 1959, where a new
musical could be a Broadway smash, were it not
for the presence of its lackluster leading
lady. When the hapless starlet dies on opening
night during her curtain call, Lieutenant Frank Cioffi (David
Hyde Pierce /Nile Crane from Frasier)
arrives on the
scene to conduct an investigation. But the lure
of the theatre proves irresistible and after an
unexpected romance blooms for the stage-struck
detective, he finds himself just as drawn toward
making the show a hit, as he is in solving the
murder.

LES
MISERABLES
(opened Oct.24, 2006)
A legendary musical by Alain Boublil and
Claude-Michel Schonberg based on Victor Hugo's
famous novel of 19th century France.
The action begins
in 1815 as Jean Valjean, a man condemned to 19
years of hard labor for stealing a loaf of bread
to feed his family, finds only hatred and
suspicion when he is released on parole. Meeting
one man who believes in him, Valjean breaks his
parole to begin a new life. The story truly
begins as Jean Valjean crosses the landscape of
early 19th century France, always pursued by the
righteous police inspector Javert. From his
adoption and love of the orphan Cosette, to the
darkly funny plots of the thieving Thenardiers,
from the soaring revolutionary fire of the
student rebels who fight on the barricade in the
streets of Paris to the final confrontation
between Jean Valjean and Javert, the story of
Les Miserables is one of love, courage and
redemption.
